WHERE
IT ALL
BEGAN

The name says everything. Teranga — the Wolof word for the spirit of hospitality and generosity that defines Senegalese culture. It was the perfect name for the event that would launch a continental movement, because this is exactly what ATT is built on: welcome, warmth and openness.

Kédougou was chosen deliberately. One of Senegal's most remote and spectacular regions, it offered everything a founding edition needed: red laterite trails that carved through ancient hills, mountains that seemed to touch the sky, rivers that demanded respect, and communities that welcomed strangers with open hands.

When the riders assembled for the first time, something happened that no one had fully anticipated. The dust settled on the bivouac camp each evening, and around those fires, the brotherhood was forged. Pilotes who had never met shared food, stories, mechanical knowledge and laughter. Africa Trail Trophy became real that night — not in the planning, but in the living.

WHAT MADE
TERANGA
UNFORGETTABLE

🏔️
Mountain Riding

The Fouta Djallon highlands that border the region served up technical trail riding through ancient rock formations and cascading valleys. Routes that tested every rider and rewarded them with views that could silence a crowd.

🔥
Bivouac Life

Three nights under African skies. Camp fires, shared meals, story circles and the sound of generators giving way to the sounds of the bush. Teranga's bivouac became the template for every ATT camp since.

🤝
Solidarity Actions

Pilotes delivered school supplies to villages along the route. A medical outreach day served remote communities. ATT was never just about riding — it was about leaving something behind.

🛵
The Red Laterite

Kédougou's red dirt trails are legendary among West African riders. They demand skill, punish overconfidence and reward those who read the terrain. Every rider arrived clean and left red — a badge of honour.

🌅
Senegalese Hospitality

Village welcomes, traditional ceremonies, locally cooked meals and the warmth of people who had never seen a motorcycle adventure of this scale — but welcomed it as if they had waited for it all their lives.

🌍
The Continental Spark

Around the last campfire, riders from four countries made a pact: this will not be the last. From that moment, Africa Trail Trophy was no longer a concept — it was a living, breathing continental commitment.

We came for the trail.
We stayed for each other.
We left to change the continent.
